There is no one way of tying a necktie, since there are hundreds of different instructions. A common mistake, however, is that the tie will be left too short or too long. When assessing the length of the tie, its tip should come all the way down to the belt buckle. The tie should be opened and rolled up after each time of use, so that the fabric will stay smooth.
The necktie is the most common accessory worn by men and goes together with all types of suits. So if the invitation reads dark suit, you should choose a single colour tie matching the colour of your suit, preferable in hues of grey or blue. Depending on the nature of the event, the tie can also be more elaborate.
The colour of the tie is chosen according to the occasion. A truly festive tie is always silver grey, and at funerals you should wear a black tie. Designs give dignity and also liven up the appearance. Classical styles are stripes, a club stripe is always a classical, timeless sure choice. A tie, however, is an individual accessory which is chosen according to the user’s personality.
